More than 220 Clark County business, education and community leaders joined students and teachers to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “An Evening with CLASS!,” the annual fundraising gala to benefit CLASS! literacy, student journalism and career skills development programs for high school students in Clark County. Hosted at Caesars Palace on May 2, the event honored Cox Communications and featured guest speakers Nevada Supreme Court Justice Michael Cherry and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Alexandra Berzon of the Las Vegas Sun.

CLASS! Board President Chris Ferrari presented the 2009 Voices of Tomorrow Mentor Award to Juergen Barbusca, Manager of Communications for Cox Communications and a member of the CLASS! Board of Directors.

In nearly a decade in partnership with CLASS!, Cox Communications has provided significant financial, technical, volunteer and governance support to CLASS!. One of its most important contributions has been sponsorship of the CLASS! High School Internship Program, in which more than 120 high school interns from across Clark County have received one-on-one job skills training from professionals in media and communication careers.
